Hello Malcolm Taylor and Brian Callahan,
Thank you for sharing your stories. It is fascinating how there can be an interesting story behind every learned new word! 😄
If you have any questions, please let us know.
It was Kippis, from a visiting Finnish academic living opposite. 'How will you remember this?' he asked. "keep p...ed," I replied. That earned another drink. Cheers to that.
Undoubtedly, kindly taught (I'm certain the first word was Kiitos) by a flight attendant aboard a Finnair flight to Helsinki on my eventual way to Moscow. A fun people and a pristine nation - Finland was always a great pleasure. Please keep sending exchange students. The Finns were the best. Isto Hurmekoski (sp?) and Katarina McAlester (yes, that's a Scottish last name, but she's Finnish, indeed).
