John: This is Must-Know Finnish Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 14. In this lesson, you'll learn abbreviations for when you can't be bothered.
John: These abbreviations are commonly known by almost everyone, but most often used by teenagers.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
John: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:

John: Aino, what's our first expression?
Aino: EMT
John: It is an abbreviation for
Aino: En mä tiedä,
John: which literally means "I don't know." When it's used as a slang expression, it also means "I don't know."

John: Use this slang expression when you want to express you don’t know something in a very youthful or bored tone. You can also use it as an answer to express that something you said was irrelevant or that you don’t want to repeat it, when the other person didn’t hear you or asks you to repeat what you said.

John: It is an abbreviation for
Aino: Ei voi muistaa,
John: which literally means "can not be remembered," or "can't remember." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "I can't remember."

John: Use this slang expression when you want to express in a very youthful and somewhat hostile or passive-aggressive way that you don’t remember something, or that you don’t want to remember something.

John: "What was for lunch at school?" "I can’t remember."

John: This is an abbreviation of the phrase
Aino: Ei vois vähempää kiinnostaa,
John: meaning "I couldn’t care less," or "ICCL," as the abbreviated form. When it's used as a slang expression, it means "I couldn't care less."

John: The expression is an abbreviation of a loan expression, from the English phrase "epic win." And when it's used as a slang expression, it means "epic, epic win."

John: Use this slang expression when you want to say something was almost epic, great, or something extreme.
