Did you get it right?

Hi ELSIE PARKER,

Thank you for your question and feedback. ?

Yes, you understood it correctly. "Hakea johonkin" = apply for something. (vacancy, or school, usually.)

“Hmm.. mihin minun pitäisi hakea?” Yes, In this case it is in question form of "johonkin". Mihin? Where to?

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Thank you.

Hei!

"hakea johonkin" = to apply for SOMETHING, isn't it?

if it is, I think it should be made more clear in the vocabulary words, which just has it translasted as "to apply for".

In the 2 examples from the dialouge,

"Mihin työpaikkaan naisopiskelija aikoo hakea?"

and

"Hmm.. mihin minun pitäisi hakea?"

hakea is not used with johonkin.

I understand it now, I think, but the vocabulary translation made me think that the 2 words "hakea johonkin" meant apply for.

Johnkin=something.

Easily confused Elsie Parker

It is not clear to me how the phrase "to apply for" hakea johonkin

is in the phrase from this lesson:

"Hain viime vuonna suureen kemialliseen yhtiöön, mutta he eivät edes vastanneet."

I guess that hakea become somehow "Hain"

but I don't see the word similar to "johonkin"

in this sample sentance.

Doe this have to made so difficult?

I would like to see things done more simply, with what I have already learned.
