Gina: In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Finnish learners, and then learn how to answer it like a native. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations. |

Hello Artem,
Thank you for your comment. "Minä en syö sitä" A small correction, if you don't mind. 😄
I hope you will be able to taste Finnish food someday.
Let us know if you have any question.

Minä en tiedä millaista suomalainen ruoka on. Minä en syö sen😭
Hei Esther!
Kiitos, than you for your comment and question!
The adjectives 'hyvää', 'suolaista' etc. are in the partitive case, and you use this case for example when you are consuming something, or using something "partially" but not completely.
For example:
"Minä join maitoa" ('I drank some milk')
"Minä join maidon" ('I drank the milk')
Best Wishes, Parhain terveisin,

Hello,
Many thanks for this lesson. Just one question: Why do the adjectives take these endings, f. ex. hyvää instead of hyvä, suolaista instead of suolainen, etc. ? Which case is this and what rule is there to it? Would it be wrong to say "se on hyvä"? if so, why ?
Cheers,
Esther
